YT-8272 soldering iron in a traditional housing with a resistance heater powered directly from the mains socket. The simplicity of the design makes the device almost failure-free and with proper care of the tip, the soldering iron will serve for many years. The power of the heater is enough for proper soldering of two copper wires or basic electronics in the through-hole assembly technology. The thermal power of the tip is large enough to allow heating and proper soldering of elements on large soldering pads. The high-quality coated copper tip ensures faster heat accumulation and dissipation than in standard tips, and the two-component handle with a non-slip element, which is friendly to the touch, additionally improves the safety of use.
  • power supply: 230V
  • heater power: 60W
  • depth of the tip hole: about 60 mm
  • tip diameter: 6.1 mm

Dimensions of the tip attached to the soldering iron:
  • length: about 85mm
  • diameter: 5.7mm
  • tip diameter: 1.5 mm

Other dimensions:
  • total length with bent cable: 270 mm
  • handle length: about 130 mm
  • length of the power cord: 140 cm
  • The soldering iron needs 2 to 3 minutes to heat up to 350°C.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE GROT
The tips of the YATO soldering irons are covered with a material that reduces the oxidation of the tip. Prolonged heating and mechanical damage gradually degrade the protective layer, then the tip quickly oxidizes, which results in problems with melting the solder. Tin, instead of melting and sticking to the tip, balls up and falls off. A proven way to take care of the tip is to tin it. When heating up the soldering iron for the first time, put a little tin on the tip of the soldering iron and remove its excess, e.g. with brass shavings. The resulting layer of tin protects against oxidation. It is a good practice to tin the tip each time after finishing work.

CAUTION
Soldering irons powered directly from the mains socket should have a plug with a grounding pin and should be powered from a socket with an earth connection. Failure to ground the metal housing of the heater is a risk of electric shock, which in the best case will end in burns. All Yato soldering irons have a grounding plug that is connected to the metal housing of the heater.
